Style 31 coupling  cutaway

 

Victaulic Style 31 couplings for AWWA piping systems were pressure tested to 1500 psi/10350 kPa, which is 3 times the rated working pressure, for a period of 3 minutes on Class 53 pipe. There were no leaks.

 

In phase two of the test a 285 psi ductile iron flange on Class 53 pipe was pressurized to failure.
