Victaulic Products Receive Further Approval for Potable Water Applications in Italy
Victaulic, the world leader in pipe joining system manufacture, has announced that its carbon steel products have received certification in accordance to the Italian decree DM 174/04 to be used in potable water systems. This follows the certification of Victaulic galvanized and stainless steel fittings and valves, as well as EPDM gaskets in September. Victaulic complete range of building products is now approved for applications using potable water for human consumption in Italy.
Following the adoption by the Italian government of the European decree 98/83/CE whose objective is to guarantee the availability and protection of water quality for human consumption, any building product that comes into contact with potable water or food ingredients for human consumption has to be made out of certified material before it can be installed.
Victaulic will be present at the SITE tradeshow in Rome from 28 November to 1 December on Stand E60 in Hall 3 to showcase its complete range of couplings, accessories, valves and fittings for the HVAC, fire protection and industrial process piping markets. Key focus of the show will be on the complete grooved stainless steel product offering and on the product range for the HVAC market.
Roberto de Piaggi, Sales Engineer for Victaulic Italy, comments: “As announced in September our complete range of fittings, valves and gaskets is now certified for potable water applications. This certification further shows the commitment of Victaulic to our Italian customers. We will be at SITE in Rome from 28 November to 1 December to discuss the latest announcement and demonstrate our complete range of products.”
The Victaulic unique grooved piping method — which dramatically reduces the amount of installation time and saves 10 to 30 percent on total installed costs as compared to welding, threading or flanging — is used extensively for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, water and wastewater treatment, oil field operations, mining, industrial processes, power plants, military and marine systems, and other demanding fluid-handling applications. Coupling and fitting sizes range from 25mm to 600mm.
Victaulic, a privately held company headquartered in Easton, Pa., U.S.A., has manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide and employs approximately 3,000 people. The company, and its subsidiaries, develops products for a full range of industrial, commercial and institutional piping systems.
