Anglesey Apartments
The Anglesey Apartments in Queensland, Australia is a 10 story apartment
tower in the beach front community of Redcliffe. Faced with a tight
construction schedule, the contractor required a fast, efficient and reliable
method to install the building’s wet sprinkler system. Tru-Flow Services found
its solution in Victaulic Firelock® 009H EZ rigid couplings. By eliminating the
need to disassemble the coupling before installation, 009H couplings are the
easiest and fastest way to join sprinkler system piping.
From the H-Pattern and Pump Room up through the 10th floor, Tru-Flow
Services specified Victaulic 009H couplings to be installed on the hydrant
work and risers – an installation that was originally estimated to take 1 week
to complete. Due to the ease and speed of installation, Firelock 009H EZ
rigid couplings enabled the crew to complete the system in a day and a
half – 5 times faster than the original estimate, resulting in a savings of 80%
installation time and a week in labor costs. To complete the system, Tru-Flow
chose Victaulic Style 717 Check Valves and Style 705 Butterfly Valves for a
dependable, proven fire protection system.
