Parkville Neuroscience Center at Melbourne University
The new Parkville Neuroscience Research Centre will provide the tools and resources for world class scientific medical research into brain and mind disorders. The $161 million facility will accommodate a staff of 500 scientists from the Florey Neuroscience Institutes (FNI), the Mental Health Research Institute (MHRI) and Melbourne University, and will become the principal research laboratories for the FNI and MHRI. The research centre is also the new home of The Cunningham Dax Collection, comprised of over 15,000 pieces of artwork created by patients with mental illnesses or emotional trauma.
Victaulic products were selected to be installed on the chilled and condenser water piping systems in order to compress the construction schedule. By using Victaulic couplings, valves and Advanced Groove System (AGS) products for large diameter piping, the contractor was able to finish construction of the facility 3 months ahead of schedule, saving time and labour costs.
