Ritz Carlton
Amongst the newest Toronto luxury hotels, the Ritz-Carlton is an architectural icon standing at 53 stories tall. Located in the heart of the city’s financial district and mere steps from the CN Tower and the Entertainment District, the new hotel features 267 rooms and 159 condominium residences. Being a high profile project, the desire for the owner to open the doors and start generating revenue was paramount. Turning to Victaulic, Rom-Tal Mechanical took advantage of a variety of Victaulic solutions to ensure reliability, productivity and cost savings. Style 107H QuickVic installation-ready couplings, with no loose bolts and no parts to drop or lose, allowed for improved speed and ease of installation. Victaulic QuickVic installation-ready couplings feature patented Grade EHP gaskets rated to 250F, which provided optimum performance and peace of mind on the hot water system. In addition to the productivity gains achieved through the ease and speed at which Victaulic grooved mechanical piping products were installed, the contractor also controlled costs by using stainless steel pipe as an alternative to copper on the domestic water system. Victaulic Style 155 expansion joints were manufactured to meet the design specifications for the project and were installed along with Victaulic Style 150 Mover expansion joints on every floor of the building. A slip type expansion joint, the Style 150 Mover allowed for easy adjustments prior to installation and will provide up to 3"/80mm of axial end movement.
