Weener Energie
Kraftwerk Steam Power Plant is located in Weener, Germany and is owned and operated by Weener Energie. The power plant provides an integral and environmentally friendly service by supplying heat to the adjacent paper mills using 140,000 tons of trade waste to produce energy. Through this process, Kraftwerk saves 55,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Using trade wastes to produce energy and heat enables Kraftwerk to provide a fundamentally necessary service in an environmentally friendly way. In accordance with Kraftwerk’s attempt for conservation, Victaulic provided the power plant with potable water, waste water, and fire protection systems using galvanized carbon steel grooved piping systems while cutting total installation time by as much as 10% – a substantial compression of the schedule. A huge concern for Kraftwerk was the maintenance of their vacuum. Because the Victaulic grooved system is comprised of individual connections, it allows easy access for quick maintenance and cleaning.
