Patented in 1919, Victaulic is the originator and world's leading producer of mechanical pipe joining solutions, including grooved fittings and couplings. Originally known as The Victory Pipe Joint Company, Victaulic began to market a revolutionary new concept in the piping industry -- a mechanical bolted coupling that would engage into grooves and use a gasket seal.

The concept of the “victory joint”, joining pipe with bolted mechanical grooved couplings and grooved fittings, originated during World War I for rapid deployment of fuel and water lines to Allied forces. Later, combining the words "Victory" and "Hydraulics" the company name was shortened to Victaulic, and the company began to shift its focus to commercial piping applications to market its new innovative method of joining pipe.

Throughout its innovative history, the company's enthusiasm for crafting unconventional piping solutions has allowed it to forge new paths as it tackles the industry's most unique challenges.

Today, Victaulic innovative piping systems, technologies and services put people to work faster while increasing safety, ensuring reliability and maximizing efficiency. The company has 14 major manufacturing facilities and 29 branches worldwide with 3,600 employees who speak 43 languages across the globe. With over 1,900+ global patents, Victaulic piping solutions, perfect as welding alternatives, are at work in more than 140 countries across diverse business lines including oil and gas, chemical, mining, power generation, water and wastewater treatment, military and marine, as well as commercial building and fire protection.



Grooved Pipe Joining Method

The grooved pipe joining method — which dramatically reduces the amount of installation time as compared to welding, threading or flanging — is now used extensively in a variety of piping applications.

Victaulic grooved products comprise a complete system:

The Victaulic grooved pipe joining method accommodates most piping materials, including lightwall, standard and extra-heavy steel, stainless, aluminum, PVC pipe and other plastics, as well as high-density polyethylene. In addition, products for copper tubing (CTS) and ductile iron (AWWA) for water supply, as well as underground- and waste-treatment process piping are available.

Victaulic products are manufactured to accommodate piping standards including ANSI, DN, JIS, CIS, AS and BS.

Victaulic also offers products using unique joining methods. For example, utilizing a spline-to-join pipe, Aquamine™ products offer reusable, high-impact PVC pipe, PVC couplings and PVC fittings for water-system solutions. The VBSP line of products allows mechanical joining of large diameter carbon and stainless steel pipe, regardless of the size or standard. The Victaulic Vic-Press™ system is press technology for joining schedule 10 stainless steel.
