Port Kembla Coal Terminal
Located in Wollongong, NSW Australia, the Port Kembla Coal Terminal receives
and exports high quality coking and steaming coal from Australia’s southern
and western coal fields to 25 countries around the world. With a stockyard
capacity of 850,000 tons, PKCT receives shipments by rail and road, which
are moved by conveyor belt to be stockpiled, reclaimed and loaded, and
shipped via sea.
When PKCT upgraded their fire protection systems for the TS4 conveyor,
they turned to Victaulic to provide quality wet and deluge sprinkler systems.
Victaulic grooved Firelock NXT® devices, couplings, fittings and accessories
were installed easily and quickly, reducing overall installed cost. More
