Victaulic Mining Expert Outlines Strategies to Prevent Leaks in Compressed Air Systems in Resource Engineering and Maintenance
The summer 2011 issue of Resource Engineering and Maintenance featured a contributed article by Marc Carriere, Global Mining Manager at Victaulic, highlighting two strategies to prevent leaks through pipe couplings in compressed air lines. Carriere explains why leaks are a costly problem that should be dealt with immediately, and describes how two of primary causes of leaks through couplings—pinched gaskets and gasket deterioration—can be prevented through the use of installation-ready couplings and nitrile gaskets.
Resource Engineering and Maintenance publishes information about operations, repair and maintenance for resource-based facilities. This publication reaches 11,000 industrial engineers and plant operations and maintenance professionals in large scale, asset intensive resource industries including the oil and gas industry.
