Sevan Driller
Based on Sevan's own patented technology, the Sevan Driller, which will run for Petrobas in the Santos Basin off of the Brazilian coastline, will have a capacity of drilling wells up to 40,000 ft./ 12,000 m in water depths of up to 12,500 ft./ 4,000 m, a variable deck load of more than 15,000 metric tons and high storage capacity of bulk materials. In addition, it will be equipped with an internal storage capacity of up to 150,000 barrels of oil. The Victaulic Style 77 flexible couplings were installed on the dry bulk and air conditioning pipelines. Due to the ease of on-site installation in tight driller spaces, the contractor, COSCO, was able to meet the compressed schedule. The quick disassembly and reassembly makes the maintenance much easier for COSCO operators at sea.
