Grooved Mechanical Piping Solutions Withstand Seismic Movement in PHC News

The April issue of PHC News featured a contributed article by Dave Hudson, senior engineer at Victaulic, describing the advantages of grooved mechanical pipe joining systems in accommodating piping movement generated by seismic forces. With the ability to provide both rigid and flexible pipe joints, grooved mechanical piping systems are commonly used in HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, industrial, mining, oilfields, utilities, water and wastewater applications. Reducing the stress on a piping system, flexible grooved couplings are used in conjunction with rigid grooved couplings to accommodate the movement.

PHC News is a leading publication in North America serving the plumbing and mechanical contracting industries. It has a circulation of 47,000.
