CPI LuYang Power Generation Facility
Located in Henan Province, China, the LuYang power station is the backbone of Central China's power generation. Owned by CPI and the local government of Henan Province, the LuYang power station operates at the highest output level of all power plants in the region, with a peak output capacity of 2000MW.
Due to the large diameter of the pipes and the need to accommodate movements associated with thermal expansion and contraction and seismic shifts, Victaulic couplings and expansion joint couplings were chosen to be installed on the pulverized coal piping system. In addition, Victaulic Firelock valves and devices were chosen to be installed on the power plant's fire protection system. By eliminating the hot works associated with traditional pipe joining methods, Victaulic Firelock valves and devices were installed safely without additional fire hazard precautions. In addition, Victaulic Firelock grooved end devices and valves were installed simply and quickly using Victaulic couplings - a two piece housing design with two nuts and bolts which vastly simplifies assembly.
