Fire Prevention Week, held annually in early October to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, is here again. During this time we’d like to take the opportunity to help raise awareness for Fire Prevention and focus on this year’s message: Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!
“Working in the Fire Protection Industry, it’s evident that fire preparedness is not top-of-mind for everyone. So it’s up to us in the industry to educate on fire prevention and advocate for fire protection awareness. Along with checking your smoke alarms yearly, one of the biggest steps to prepare for a fire is to organize an escape plan. In side-by-side burn demonstrations seen across the country, there is usually less than 2 minutes to escape safely.
