Victaulic Named Corporate Citizen of the Year

Posted on December 18, 2015

At Victaulic, we believe it is our job to give back. Victaulic associates around the world are personally engaged within the communities where they work. The company is a strong corporate sponsor of many worthy organizations through our charitable foundation, a long-established giving program funded by Victaulic. Headquartered in Easton, Pennsylvania, the company is an integral part of the local economy and the communities that make up the Lehigh Valley area.

Recently, Lehigh Valley Business magazine named Victaulic the Lehigh Valley Corporate Citizen of the Year. This annual award put a spotlight on the contributions and involvement of Victaulic employees in support of a wide range of programs. It also highlighted the company’s overall focus on corporate social responsibility.

“We are especially proud of our global employees who embrace our social responsibility culture by contributing financially and by offering their time and expertise to those less fortunate,” said Eric Luftig, Victaulic Vice President. “Every day, Victaulic brings business solutions to life for our customers, while our employees provide life-changing solutions for betterment of our global community.”

The Victaulic Corporate Foundation supports more than 30 Lehigh Valley organizations each year and employees participate in fundraising and other activities. Through the foundation, Victaulic provides financial support to organizations in health care, cancer research, higher education, children’s issues, domestic abuse, public safety, the arts and cultural affairs.

While the list of organizations Victaulic touches through foundation giving is lengthy, there are several specific examples that underscore the commitment of the company and its dedicated people.

Valley Youth House

This local organization is focused on helping young people build foundations for growth and independence. It provides a home and transitional support for vulnerable young people and helps them gain skills that can promote success in life. Victaulic and its employees provide annual financial support for the program and have been lead donors to Valley Youth House’s Camp Fowler and Great Beginnings programs.

Valley Youth House serves more than 35,000 children and families each year.

United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley

For more than 30 years, Victaulic has actively supported the United Way through company-wide giving. In addition to committed giving through Victaulic’s corporate foundation, employees provide generous donations during Victaulic’s annual United Way campaign.

Victaulic has been among the leading contributors to the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and has participated on the local United Way Board for the past two decades. Over the last seven years alone, Victaulic and its employees have donated more than $2 million to the local chapter.

Because of this longstanding partnership and support, the local United Way has recognized Victaulic with numerous awards over the last several years, including the President’s Award, Cornerstone Award, Campaign Achievement Award, and many others.

Community involvement

In addition to the examples above, Victaulic employees consistently give generously of their time and resources. Employees regularly participate in events and campaigns to support programs such as the American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, Miller-Keystone Blood Center, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, March of Dimes, the American Heart Association and many other causes.

While the Lehigh Valley Business Corporate Citizen of the Year award recognizes Victaulic’s contributions locally, its commitment extends beyond borders. The company strives to support and enhance all of the communities in which its employees live and work around the globe.
